Match Report: FA Cup Derby Action Against Cramlington United

Today saw Cramlington Town Ladies make the short trip to our neighbours, Cramlington United, for a highly anticipated FA Cup tie.

A Fitting Tribute

Before kick-off, players, staff, and supporters came together to pay tribute to our late, much-loved manager, Stu, with a minute’s applause. It was a poignant and fitting moment for someone who meant so much to absolutely everyone at the club.

Match Summary

The First Half The game began as a very balanced affair. Town started the stronger of the two sides, but as the half went on, both teams began to carve out chances. Ultimately, Cramlington United took one of theirs to head into the break 1–0 up.

The Second Half Town came out fighting after the interval, completely turning the game on its head.

• The Comeback: A goal from Amber and a great finish from Bella put us in front.
• Missed Opportunities: We created further chances to extend our lead, but unfortunately, they went begging.
• Late Drama: Two late goals from Cramlington United swung the tie back in their favour, sealing our exit from the FA Cup.

Looking Ahead

Despite the final result, it was a great game of football with plenty of positives to take away. Considering the squad went into this fixture with absolutely no pre-season friendlies under their belts, it was a fantastic effort with lots for us to build on as we look ahead to the new season.
