Cullercoats extended their unbeaten start but

One more player added to the growing A&E waiting list &

One audition for Dancing on Ice

The Doves welcomed Seaton Sluice knowing full well that three points were up for grabs, although judging by some of the proceedings, a medical degree might have been more useful than a coaching badge.

The Doves started on top without really troubling the Sluice keeper, whilst the visitors looked dangerous on the counter-attack. Plenty of possession for Cully, but turning it into anything meaningful was proving harder than getting 11 women to agree on a formation 🤣

Then came a tactical switch, and suddenly the Doves remembered where the goal was.

Jill, causing problems down the left, delivered for Abbie, who calmly slotted into the bottom corner. 1-0

The Doves headed into half-time with the lead, but it wasn’t a classic half, full of chances by any means!

HALF-TIME: CULLERCOATS 1-0 SEATON SLUICE

The second half began with Jill causing more problems down the right flank, winning a free kick in a dangerous position. The Doves were turning the screw, and Ritchie decided it was time to get involved.

A brute of a delivery caused absolute carnage in the Sluice defence, with one unfortunate defender slicing the ball into her own net but we give it to Ritchie for the quality of the delivery and it possibly may of been on target

2-0 to The Doves

Seaton Sluice weren’t finished, though, and a dangerous breakaway had the Doves briefly wondering if they’d left the back door open.

A sliced clearance from Rachel on the bobbly pitch and a long-range effort saw the attacker intercept the shot & round Rachel, only to fail to find the target with the goal gaping.

Then came the entertainment.

Abbie decided to audition for Dancing on Ice, producing a performance that left everyone questioning whether the game had suddenly changed sports. ⛸️😂

Meanwhile, Ritchie was timing tackles with such precision that NASA were reportedly considering recruiting her for their next space mission.

Every challenge perfectly timed, every tackle committed, and apparently Mia was actually trying to play football rather than participate in a live-action episode of Gladiators.

But the Doves weren’t done.

A corner was cleared only as far as Holly, who found herself left side of the Dee with time to pick her spot. She did exactly that, placing her shot beautifully beyond the keeper to put the game beyond doubt.

3-0 to The Doves

A composed finish, a clean sheet and another three points. Holly clearly hadn’t received the memo that this match was supposed to be a medical emergency.

🚑 THE CULLERCOATS MEDICAL DEPARTMENT UPDATE

The unbeaten run continues, but the club’s relationship with the NHS is becoming increasingly concerning.

Anna H is the latest player to take up residence in the Cullercoats infirmary, joining what is becoming less of a football squad and more of a long-term rehabilitation facility.

Thankfully, Jo stepped in and filled the gap particularly well, proving that whilst the Doves might be running out of fit players, they certainly aren’t running out of solutions.

At this rate, our next signing will be a physio, followed closely by a private ambulance and a loyalty card for the local A&E department. 🚑😂

Another win.

Another clean sheet.

Another three goals.

Another week unbeaten.

The Doves continue their impressive start to the season, showing that even with half the squad held together by strapping tape and positive thinking, they’re still a force to be reckoned with although the growing injury list is a huge concern
